No Hot Water or pressure.

I dont have any hot water in my house, i have plenty of cold water and the pressure seems fine. About a week ago the council turned off our water as it needed to fix a leak up near the source. When the water came on we taught the pipe had frozen because it wasnt being used and the temp was - 7 outside. We were away for the last week and came back thinking the pipes would have had thawed but we still have no pressure or hot water but as i said loads of cold water.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Is it just the cold tap in the kitchen that works?

    Is you're water tank full?

Yeah there is no problems with the tank filling with water. We can heat the house but there is just no hot water in the taps. The water was turned off there so would it be possible that somehow the hot water pipes got blocked somehow??

You may well have an airlock - especially if the hot water cylinder drained. You'll need to force the air out.

    Try this.

sounds very much like an airlock, theres a ton of threads in the past 2 wks explaining how to remove an airlock

Thanks guys for the replys and the help. It was an airlock but since i have an IMMERMAN CONDENSING unit it was a hell of a job to get it working right. It took the plumber over an hour to figure out what the best way of getting it done. A lesson learned hopefully it never happens again.
