    Defending flags/CP ect

would you class this as camping ?

    take CTF for instance
when i play with my team 1 of us will stay around the flag to defend it.usealy with a m60 and extended mag.

i see this as lagit gameplay as you are defending the flag.

to me camping is staying in a random spot/corner that no one expect there to be someone in.

Nah, its playing the objective, same as hanging around a Domination point if you're on the defensive or the HQ. camping to me is sitting in a room with a claymore behind you hoping someone runs past.

as krudler said its playing the objective didnt really play much of those games on mw2 but play them a good bit on blops and I get more pissed off with the muppet off trying to getb his 91-0 k/d on domination instead of defending/capping the objectives.

and any HardCore gamemode is full of camping homosexuals:D

Never, you're simply defending your objective as required. I just hate the K/D whores joining into games of domination who run past enemy flags, so many times i've been killed trying to take a flag on my own when a team mate who ran by could have helped, so frustrating.

I can't get my head around people who play DOM/ CTF/ DEMO etc; without team mates. It's impossible to get the job done when half your team is going for a good K/D and totally ignoring the fact that you need to cap flags or plant/defuse bombs.

nah i'd say it's playing the objective. if you're on the defense then teh best strategy would be to defend the objective. that's how teh game is won or should be won

I would say that's playing the objective, but not all server admins think so, was playing a game of Dom on Array, it was one them games where both teams were just following each other around the map, taking a flag as you lost a previous one. Decided to stop and defend C for a while. Stopped them talking c but then got kicked from server for camping!

    its all pointless ...

camping is the sore loser who gets killed by the person defending the objective....

or the one who keeps going back for a revenge kill only to find you've moved slightly :D I had great fun on Crash the other night diong just that over the A flag, kept changing corners in the same room watching this fuy blindfiring into the corner i was previously, for extra giggles i jumped off the balcony and quickscoped from outside when he was looking around for me :D

    Defo agree Krudler

did something similar on Favela.... Same lads kept trying to rush me at the back building beside the playground....

One of the threw a flashbang at me but i had already jumped out of the hole in the building and shot all 3 of them in the back!

Lads have to remember that its only a game....some people take playing it way to seriously...

The reverse argument is that no one likes losing and everyone gets competitive once the game begins...

Theres nothing more frustrating the playing on a team of complete randomners and they fail to understand the basic fundamentals of the game

Ah stop, like people calling in uavs or spyplanes when the other team has just called in a counter one, wtf like?! I swear people dont realise what the map means half the time, i play with one eye on the game and one on that the majority of the time as the spyplane is one of the best perks around, if you keep them consitently in the air throughout the game you'll dominate the map, but noooo all the other noobs have to set their streaks as chopper gunners and gunships.

    Agreed....

Sick of seeing the rc cars driving by me when a UAV would be more useful to a team.based game

    Hell no its not.

I was playing demolition on Radiation tonight with my small clan.
I was defending A and i ended the 1st half with 56kills,3 defuses and 4 deaths both sites intact.

after switching sides and calling in my SR71,Chopper Gunner and Attack Dogs id not used i finished with 81 kills 1 plant and 11 deaths

next time Radiation came up i tryed the same thing but no1 came near A the hole time we were defending it :D

    Camping? No. Bad tactics? Maybe.

There is nothing wrong at all with defending what you hold in an objective based game. Anyone who calls you a camper is simply a moron.

However, in CTF it isn't necessarily the best idea to have one defence man back on the flag. This means that every time anyone on his team dies, it will normally pull their spawn back to him. Which is usually a bad thing.

A possibly better tactic is to play midfield. There are usually 3 routes through most maps from one side to the other. So it can work out better to have people patrolling these areas, with your flag runner further forward. If you can control midfield, it'll mean that your own team will spawn there with you, and that the enemy are pushed back into their own spawn. This leaves them further to run to get to your flag, and means your flag runner is clear once he's gotten past you guys. Might be worth trying. The other way isn't "wrong" but mightn't be ideal either. :)
