As I've said before, 'The Walking Dead' aired practically worldwide within a week of it's airdate in the US.... plenty of people just wouldn't be arsed!

Considering the last episode of 'Heroes' aired the 8th of February, that's an impressive feat.

Considering it went to **** years ago, it's even more impressive.

I remember saying that at the time, for as bad as the show turned out to be it was still one of the most popular shows on download sites.

Thing is would anyone download anything if it came out within a weeknof the states. I for one def wouldn't. I know lost is top of that list so it kinda shoots my theory to **** but I couldn't imagine anyone with sky downloading it a few days later.

Is Glee not shown here fairly soon after the US?

    I believe it is.

Bottom line....ads. Thats my theory anyway.

For example, I watched lost when it debuted in america by downloading. We didn't have it over here until it was halfway through the second season in the states. RTE bought it and aired them all in one big go to catch up.

When Sky bought the 3rd season, they were only a week behind the states......so why keep downloading it?

I'd only ever watched it edited into a 43 minute version. I was used to the ad free version as I'd never watched it with ads...... and ad breaks every 10 minutes really didn't appeal to me.

Shows are much, much better without ads. I'd say the majority of that list proves that. If DVD boxsets were released earlier, I'd buy the lot. Ofcourse, you can now just sky+ stuff and fast forward but not everyone has a HD box. Plus, that sort of stuff is stuck on your one box. You can't transfer it to another box. Its stuck there. When people download, they tend to share it with their siblings or friends.

Not in UK.I presume Ireland has little effect on these statistics.

I tend to watch all my TV online because the times on TV don't tend to suit me

That and the amount of advertisements. It's pretty amazing watching American TV shows and realising that the majority of them are in or around 40-45 minutes long, so that means that 15-20 minutes are bloody adverts!

Yeah, I always find it very difficult to watch a show with all the ads in it, most shows are 41 minutes long, which means you can watch 2 in about an hour and a half whereas it'll take 2 hours on regular TV. Live TV for me is just sport now I have to admit, everything else is sitting on a NAS upstairs and streamed throughout the house
