Time is only an illusion.

Space and time are wrapped up in one complex mass where everything that has every happened and everything that has to happen takes place at the same instant. In a static universe if you were looking from the outside.

As we travel through time, we are traveling through the complex architecture of universe which to us appears linear and hence we experience events linearly. Though it doesn't mean the events do take place linearly. Its all happening at the same time all the time. We just can't experience it that way as our experiences are caught up within a few limited dimensions in the universe where the intricately wrapped up events appear to us in a linear fashion.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.
