A Mr Simms sweet shop opened in Limerick before the Christmas and its awesome!
Has lots of Sweets you would not have seen in years.

Old look to the place, wooden shelves on all 4 walls.
Both sugar and sugar free sweets. Jars/old boxes and old style sweets.

I finally got some Rhubarb and Custard Boiled sweets was
    looking everywhere for them

Coco bananas, and marshmallow bananas with chocolate inside.

    I got Apple Flavored Chocolate
    and Banana floured Chocolate.

    Yummy.

rhubarb and custard boiled sweets were awesome.....and what about those sour chewing gums shaped like fruits that also had sherbet inside them? Lemons, oranges, limes, and strawberries....

Old style sweet shops seem to be making a comeback. There are a few springing up in Dublin. I see they even have a stall in the Omniplex in Santry too, looks a bit out of place there.

Just heard of this place only this evening, no mention of it when I was home in Limerick over Christmas otherwise I'd have visited it. Must drop in and buy a few (loads of) sweets next time I'm home.

There is a shop in Crumlin beside the hospital that sells these, often go in and put a load into those little plastic bags you used to get for penny sweets. Hmmm a stop on the way home methinks :D

Am I right in thinking that the one in Limerick is a UK chainstore?
