What's wrong with the screen exactly? Is it smashed?

Hmmm I would say sent it back to them (manafactures), but direct fault of your daughter kinda rules that out. A broken screen which is out of warranty means mainly see it for parts. but I would try and see it back to the only cost you would have is postage. As long as you don't put down that your daughter broke it XD. Should still under warrenty with Acer afaik.

There's quite a few places around town that will fix screens. Actually, try fonemenders.

They have a place on catherine street. They'll be able to give you a price at least, and the do laptop screens.

There are loads of back street no name places that will do the same.
