SCOPES, SILENCERS, LASERS question

Ok ive decided after much googling and reviews on forums to go for the sniper Mauser PRO-Tactical gun. As i feel this will be a good all round sniper gun.
Id like some advice on what scope would be best for me to use with it ?
is the waterproof one any more benifical. I know the shop will advise me on one for the gun, but id like to hear from people's own experiences with what scopes they use and why ?

Also silencer how beneficial is this to me to add to the gun ?
Any particular good one's i should go for ?

Lastly laser's do many people use these or are they frowned upon at games ive read online that some places do not allow the use of them in games as it may give an unfair disadvantage ?

I don't personally know much about scopes or lasers but do you know that a silencer won't actually make a difference to the sound of your sniper

Not true at all. Snipers are one of the few guns that a silencer can really make a big difference. It just takes the snap out of the shot (which makes it much harder to pinpoint the position the shot came from. It depends on the quality of the material used to silence the shot though - some will be useful, but others can be very effective.

Unlike AEGs, and GBBs, a bolt action sniper's main noise comes from the shot itself as opposed to the Gearbox turning, or the slide/bolt recoiling (respectively).

With regard to lasers - they're not really that useful...but they're pretty cool. They'll give your position away, but realistically you won't use it enough for it to be a problem.

Scopes on the other hand are pretty useful, but the range you'll get off an airsoft gun here in Ireland won't be so great that it's necessary. I'd recommend a x4 magnification scope with decent eye relief. A waterproof scope is what it is; waterproof. So if you intend on using it in all weather, and perhaps wading through rivers etc, then it may be worth getting.

Inari is right, I had a spring l96 before and a silencer made a noticable difference. Mostly because unlike and aeg or gbb there are no real "noise" parts such as a motor , gearbox or gbb mechanisims. It wont kill the sound completely but it will make a difference.

On the scope side I had a large apature hig mag scope before and tbh it was totally unsuited seeing as even at the lowest magnification the focal length was still a lot longer than the bb's furthest reach. I bought it because its dead sexy having a sniper with a big apature scope!!!

just something to point out in regard to lasers, of the 2, red and green, only red are legal

I buy and sell real steal scopes and use a jg bar10 and scoped m14.Buying an airsoft scope is nothing like buying a real steal. In Airsoft I personaly prefer fixed magnification because 1.you wont even use anything over 4-6 after that you wont hit them anyway and 2.Its something you can get caught ajusting at the wrong time and be hit.I also go with minalimist crossairs because as much as it all looks good it blocks your view .Im not a fan of a scope that change colour because again theres no need. When buying an airsoft scope get one with the widest field of view you can get, this will give you a better view over more of the playing field and something around x40 and up.The problem with a cheap scope is the amount of light it lets in to your eye.Cheap scopes dont hold up so well in dark conditions or around dusk/dawn.Ull see through them but dont be hoping for much else.Id recommend something like genuine tasco scope or a bushnell. Not a hong-kong knock off.

Something as well is try get one thats outside adjustable via hand turned dials.

Had a scope before that you needed a flat head screw driver to adjust.... not the easiest to zero in with.

Keep a 2cent coin under the cap :D and some caps on the dials are designed to ajust the dials.

I find a scope is good only really for recon more than actual targeting. You can see where a shot lands in the scope usually, but its not really a case of hitting the target in the crosshairs pike steal rifle.

Laser, handy for snapshots and for making people take cover in a cbq, and on pistols funnily enough.

Silencers, I'm sorry but two issues with the post above, a silencer in real life works by trapping the gases from the firing of a weapon. An airsoft rifle - bolt especially, make almost no noise anyway, just a light pop. The person you are shooting at wouldn't hear it, and an enemy would need to be.literally standing within 10 ft to hear it fire.

I think if I was going to be a sniper, I'd have an aeg with a.quietish motor and use it on single fire when sniping, it wouldn't be as quiet as a dedicated sniper when firing, but it would have the same range, and when the brown stuff hits the fan, flick of switch can get you a chance of surviving. Also bear in mind, on an airsoft field, there is so much firing going on that another rifle on single fire won't really be heard.

what type aeg would be on the same level as the sniper Mauser PRO-Tactical then if i were to go that route

a good aeg on single fire would have same range as the sniper gun with decent scope fitted ??

They are all using the same ammo, springs set to the same limit. Some people who use sniper rifles claim more, but most use it purely because they like the sniper image, lone sneaky hunter ect. That's fine in real life, but in airsoft they all have the same range and accuracy generally. Things that can be improved are rate of fire by fitting good gearboxes ect, and slightly accuracy with tighter barrels.

I know you posted before about trying the game out , when you do you'll see that almost without exception all the players will have aeg as their primary and some pistols for backups, and that would be the way to go.

An aeg Use as a sniper, generally the m4 type are best as they have long rails on top for easily mounting your scope.
