€360 32 inch LG full HD LCD TV with HD video playback via USB

Just got a full HD LG 32 inch LCD TV (32 LD450) in Currys for €360 to replace my Mum's old CRT. Reviews mention poorish black levels but I don't think she'll notice:) Anyway I was googling for the best picture settings when I came across some interesting info - the USB port can be "activated" by means of an engineer's menu to allow video playback (loads of formats including HD mkv!). As standard you can only view photos/play mp3s via USB.*

Details as to how to activate the port are easily googled. I used a one for all remote to send the correct infrared codes. Apparently if you change some of the other settings in the engineers menu you can brick the TV so take care.*

Apparently the same method works with lots of other LG models.*

I almost forgot DTS audio is not supported but it's relatively easy to convert your files to a supported format.*
