probably a stupid question to ask about the british army

I got the forms a few weeks ago sent in the post. Was told I could be waiting anything up to a year .... but if i sign and send off the forms I still have an option to back out right down the line?

(like i dont know where i'll be at in a year )

You'll have no problem passing the IQ test for the British army, no doubt about it.

Genuine question, do they send the forms to you with no markings, just a plain envelope.

I think I read about some policy on boards a few years back, just something I've wondered

Don't worry about that eejit, whatsamsn. Sending the forms in isn't the point of no return. You can opt-out until attestation.

Yeah, BFPO post to Ireland North and South is unmarked, and doesn't have a military return address on it.

Once you start Phase 1 training, they are yours for 28 days. You can then jump ship anytime until your passing out parade, after which they have you until contract ends (4 years).

Op best of luck if you go ahead, and if it aint for you, well atleast you gave it a chance. You actually have a fortunate case because your Irish, if you were to return home during training (at any stage in training) for a weekend and didnt return you cant be imprisoned by the BA as your a citizen of the irish Republic, however I wouldnt return to Britain for a few years
