More here. Students can get Autodesk's CAD software free for three years simply by registering; you need (to know someone with) a valid ac.uk email address.

I dunno how good it is, but free is good. :pac:
Please note, some of this software will come with built in features to prevent it's use commercially, such as a stamp on any print outs.

I downladed this for college over a year ago and I must say it's very good

I've got to say that progeCAD smart 2009 is a great FREE (non-commercial) alternative to AutoCAD.

It has much the same functionality of AutoCAD 2009 and is a 2D/3D package without any of the plotting limitations of the educational AutoCAD. I teach AutoCAD and would always recommend progeCAD to practice on as the education AutoCAD can basically 'poison' a legitimate copy of AutoCAD by importing all the plot tags and leave you having to jump through hoops to clear all that information from a commercial drawing.
