Can anyone recommend a good boarding kennel for small dog in Clare, preferably around Ennis but not restricted to.
    Cheers

There's 1 in Kilmaley and another in Cratloe that I know of, I've never used 1 of them but have never heard a bad thing about them either.

Tender Loving Care in Mountshannon is the best kennel ever!

It's in the middle of nowhere with lots of space for dogs, run by Swiss people, the woman is a dog whisperer par excellence, doggies have little rooms with beds, little carpets, toys and all.

A bit pricey but worth it.

There's a place we used a few years back which is just up
the road from the tiny lodge house at Eden Vale as you leave
Ennis on the Kilrush Road. Can't remember the name but they're
good with both dogs and cats.

    No, that's a different one, Clareman ! !
I'm bu****ed if I can remember the name of this one.
    It's annoying me, now.

    It was very good, though.

Lorna in Ballycar Kennels, outside Newmarket on Fergus.

The kennels are underfloor heated and our fellow absolutely adores it there. He's been going there since he was a baby and is always happy when we go out there.

Our fellow is a mid-sized terrier. Can be bit nervous with new people. The staff are wonderful to him.

Lorna herself is lovely to deal with.

We left our dog in with Gillian at Cottage Kennels (roughly located between Quin and the Clare Inn) and were very pleased. No connection other than being a satisfied customer. See http://www.ibkca.com/clare.html for link.

You did mean "pooch", I take it, woggie ?

    Or is it a wallaby you're trying to board out . . . ?

Would also recommend this, as well as the one in Ardnacrusha, name escapes me now.

Was it Annesbrook? I haven't used it, but heard good things about it.

We had a friend who was very unhappy with Alpha.

We left our fellow in Crocodile Dundees (Ardnacrusha, near the powerstation) and were quite unhappy. Yes, they have the webcams that you can access remotely but the dogs aren't walked every day.

In Ballycar, the dogs are taken on at least one good long walk every day. And Lorna always sends us a text to tell us that himself has settled.

To get things into perspective, our fellow spends at least 4 weeks every year in Lornas and we're very happy to both continue using them and to recommend them.

I would not recommend this one :(

Have you tried Clooney kennels, we have been leaving our CKC there for years. I have also used the one in Ballycar and it was excellent too.

I think it's worth pointing out that Babygirlz post is over two years old at this stage, a lot can happen in that length of time.

My mother swears by that place. The Swiss lady who ran it was a wonderful person. Is it still going?
