Hyundai accent 1.3 packed in on me, constant revving ... Took it to a garage and it'll be €540 to fix!!!! Ouch!

Worst Christmas present ever! Ha! Is €540 for a clutch ok? Either way I'll be staying in this new year!

Was that with an Indy or a Main Dealer? It's a tad on the high side of average for a smallish car if you ask me

Any garage that's open should be able to have it tomorrow, I reckon about €100 too much, to put it into context I paid less than what you have been quoted for an Exedy Organic clutch supplied and fitted only last week

id really like to know what yeat the car is. in the mk1 and 2 accent, theres only a smidge over 2 hours labour involved in doing a clutch, so even if you put labour (at an outrageously high) 100 euro per hour and 150 for a clutch kit, your being badly had.

seeing as the clutch completely went, are they charging you for recovery too?

Always shop around, don't just pay the first price you've been given.

    That's way too much imo.

    The insurance paid for recovery!

    It's a 02 accent.

It's roughly 250 for labour! Bit high but it's one of the few places who would take it and have it back so soon, I'll be lost without it visiting relatives over the new year. A few people and places said they can't touch it till next week

At two hours labour that'1 €125 an hour, Mercedes didn't charge that much in the height of the Tiger

That labour sounds about right, could probably be gotten for less though, but if they gave you that figure it means they're charging you almost 300 for parts. A clutch kit shouldn't be any more than 150 for your car.
