What FS for ext HD?

It's 2tb ext hd, to be plugged into linux htpc. It would very rarely be accessed by a win box.

I'd usually go with NTFS: support for large files + readable by most devices and os-es.

However I'm thinking of ext3 or ext4, with the little inconvenience of having Linux drivers at hand whenever it needs to be accessed by a win box.

    What do you suggest?

I'd go with EXT3/4 and save a small "swap" partition in FAT32 for pushing files into when you need to read them with a Windows machine.

make sure the inode size is 128 bytes or you won't easily find a windows driver that can read/write to the ext partition

use an OLD ubuntu live CD to do the formatting, newer ones will use an incompatible size

unless someone knows a better driver than www.fs-driver.org/

ext3 ftw. XFS is also an option. Try not to use XFS on a root partition though...
