Looking for a new laptop

Hi! Just wondering if someone could give me some advice on a new laptop.

Basically the one I have now is going on 5 years and the hinge and plastic around it has completely cracked and broken off so it's definitely time for an upgrade.

It'll be for daily use, including downloading a fair bit of music and movies and a little bit of gaming. Not too concerned about Hard drive size as I can always get an external one. Budget is strictly max of €500. I've been looking around in town but there doesn't seem to be anything great for my budget but maybe I'm wrong. Anyone have any suggestions? Either in a bricks & mortar shop or online. Thanks!

I've been doing fierce searching over the past while, and my budget was the same. I've pretty much settled on the following from Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004EBUX12/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Comes in at just over €440 (ex delivery, which may be free, need to check if that's UK only). It's got the i3, enough storage for what I need, hdmi output, decent webcam, and all in all I think it will suit my needs nicely. Can't get a better price for a decent i3 machine as far as I've looked. Was tempted with a few i5 laptops with better graphics cards reduced to €600 or so but had to remind myself of my budget. Plus, I could never categorise myself as a "hardcore gamer".

I don't think you can go wrong with the above really. But my expertise wouldn't be a shade on some others that lurk these rooms so I'm open to any correction / something I'm missing.

    Hope it all works out.

Any idea why the Acer is coming up as £391 when in the checkout?

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll go with the acer on amazon, best specs I've seen too for my budget :)
