Airtightness without MHRV?

For a variety of reason we aren't in a position to put in MHRV when we build in the spring and are planning on trickle vents in the window frames. Airtightness goes hand in hand with the method of building we are using so it is not a case of just aiming for a larger number of airchanges per hour.

Is it doable? Has anyone done it?

How do you plan to remove the moist air from your home??? As, in are you relying on the trickle vents for this as well?. Trickle vents for a non airtighthouse is one thing, but with an air tight house, your talking sick house syndrome fast enough if you ask me.

If you don't put in the MHRV when you start; when are you going to put it in ? Afterwards ? Are you putting in all the ductwork etc at time of build, but not the mechanical unit ?

All I know is that on my build, I've seen, on a busy bath/shower day, 10 litres a day being extracted : where do you see this ending up, if not extracted ??

I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I know I am going to have to suck it up and find the fund and it will be worth it blah blah blah.

I too am interested in what happens to the water.

    I have a system from <SNIP>

The drain is piped to outside - I wouldn't go collecting any water inside any building !! :)

Estimation of water is by-my-eagle-eye, btw. YMMV and all that. But on a winters day, heat on, people using kitchen and bathroom, bah-gum do you ship a lot of vapour !
