Right guys i have a weird problem, My car recently developed a problem. When i hit the motorway once i get up to 80kph i start to get vibration, if i stop accelerating it goes, once or twice i found if i accelerate slowly past up to 120 its gone. i would consider it a major vibration, i tried changing my front wheels for a set of known balanced ones and while they were off i checked the front suspension for play. brake disks also looked fine to me. problem still there

Anyone have any ideas? as its only under acceleration would i be right in thinking the drive-shafts? or are these constantly spinning while driving??

Thanks in advance for any help

The car is a 95 Civic SiR

I had a similar issue, turned out to be a lower ball joint on mine. It could also be a wheel baring, if you jack the car up and put your hands at 6 o'clock does the wheel move back or forth at all?

If it comes in at 50mph and goes again about 80 it is wheel balancing more than likely.

If they are stuck on weights it probably came off with the severe frost or got pushed off by snow

Ill double check both sides in the morning, i checked for play with the wheel off probably better to check with the wheel on. Didnt notice any then. Ive to get my timing belt done so might get a mechanic to look at it. Now to find a good mechanic in Meath

Although like Slidey says above, are you absolutely sure those wheels you got were balanced? It would be a million times easier to get it on a ramp and give a proper inspection though

Will you be in Mondello on Sunday?

I got them balanced about 2-3months ago, they are on the back of my car, so i swapped them round, the vibrations stayed at the front  On the plus side im getting great mileage doing 80 on the motorways

No plans to be at Mondello whats on? is it the first open day of the Year?

Ah I'd be having them looked at too, a proper inspection should rule everything out though.

First open of the year, I'll be down there with the lads from Urban, all Hondas :D

Had similar before, and it turned out to be worn CV joints.
