Generally you can keep your handicap if you have played 3 counting comps in the previous year.

Common perception, but its not right, only way you lose your HC is if you are not a member of a club for 6mths or more, you can go 30 years without playing a competition and still retain your HC.

You can't play in Inter Club competitions if you haven't submitted 4 cards in previous year.

At our club, all you need do is get a handicap cert from your former club or print it yourself from the GolfNet system and forward it to the Handicap Secretary.
Handicaps are managed by the GolfNet system. You can check your handicap (and print your own handicap cert.) online at www.golfnet.ie.
After you access the website type in your membership number (found on the back of your membership card). This number will be prefaced by a four digit number for your club and has 4 additional digits making up your 8 digit membership number. e.g. 31421234.

Type your password in the box provided, and press enter.
Please note that the first time you log on to GolfNet, you must use the word 'golfnet' as your password. You will then be requested to supply your own unique password for future use. Your password should be between 6 and 15 characters and can contain alpha and numeric characters. Please retain in a safe place for future reference !
To print your own Handicap Certificate, select Member Handicap at top of page and then click on Hcap Certificate at bottom of page.

    Hope this helps.
