Flat Battery, Alarm & Immobiliser issue

    Hi,
My 1992 new (ha) Mitsubishi Lancer was left idle for a few months and the battery went flat.

I got jumper cables to restart it but after a minute or 2 of charging the alarm started going off. When i tried to start the engine it wouldn't start, and it seems the immobiliser kicked in which is funny as its an in-laws former car and the alarm or immobiliser never worked before. I read on the net this could be an issue when the battery goes flat but the only solution i could find is to use the fob or an over ride key for the alarm box under the bonnet (neither of which I have).

Has anyone ever had this problem or know how to stop/override it without a fob or key for the engine alarm box?

I couldnt find any button inside the car either and Im thinking the only way maybe to disable it is by cutting the wire? If so i would need a mechanic as i dont have a clue but im trying to avoid if its really simple to get around.

Thanks in advance and i hope im being clear.

I have to do the same on a car i just bought, you just need to bypass the Immobilizer, how easy that is depends on the alarm, for me its a simple case of looping one wire. Find the immobilizer and google its name to see if others have had to bypass it.
