hi,I have a peugeot 306, (1.4 petrol) its a 00 car with high milage, during wet weather the engine will not run properly until I have driven a few miles and it is warmed up. The revs will drop and sometimes will cut out, more times if I put in the clutch and really rev it it will come back up. Even if I park the car in the garage out of the rain it makes no difference. I have changed the plugs and there is no difference. The engine management light comes on from time to time, but not always on when i have the cutting out problem,
    ANY IDEAS!!!!!!!!

is it like this very first thing in the morning or does the car have to warm up before it starts to do it?

could be a dodgy coil, possibly an oxy sensor... if the engine management light came on get it diagnosed, you will know the answer in seconds.

Ya first thing in the morning, or if the car is left for a few hours without been used. Once I get 2 or 3 miles down the road and its warmed up it is fine.

to be honest it could be a number of things..without seeing the car and how it reacts its a guessing game..the only problem is if you leave with a mechanic he has to wait for the car to be completely cold to recreate the symptoms and even and that it doesnt give him much time to diagnose. you could try cleaning out the idle control valve as i know a lot of the peugeots suffer from these coking up

As above if the engine light is coming on now and then there will be fault codes logged in the engine ecu.....what part of the country are you based in as there are a few members here who maybe able to read faults codes for you....:)

sounds like the lambda sensor (petrol to oxegen mix) its around 80 euro to get a universal fitting one, if you go for the original pug one could cost anything up to 200 euro to be sure get a diagnostics done and do it soon the longer you leave it the worse it will get, it could even damage your cat converter as the fuel will be running rich causing blockage they are very simple to locate and fit yourself usually on the manafold 2 bolts holding it in and a plug at the end of it dIY job:D
if unsure how to do it just look it up on you tube
