Cleaning underneath your car

    So experts,

    With all that salt and grit around sticking to the undersides of our cars - Any tips for cleaning?

    Is it just a case of sticking the power washer underneath, moving it about and hoping for the best?

    I think there may be a market here for a car wash that does the underside, particularly for pre NCT washes.

    Loads of the brush washes in service stations spray the underside. NCT is no bother unless the underside is caked in mud.

    use the power washer to spray a car soap with a wax content, or rust inhibitor(autoglym) to help prevent the salt from eating your car alive.

    Was thinking about this over the last few days. Are there any fords that a normal car can drive through to wash all the salt off the underside of the car?

    A lot of them also use the same water over and over again so as well as ripping the paint off your car they'll add a nice layer of salt to the whole car.

    Can you specify this when paying for a car wash at the garage?
