Electric Shower not heating water

    Hi,

As the title says, my electric shower has suddenly stopped heating the water :(

Its mains fed, and the pressure seems the same as always - not great tbh!!

Its a cheapish one from B&Q I got about 5 years ago.

I know I'm asking you to look into a crystal ball, but any suggestions as to what might be the cause??

I'm hopeless when it comes to DIY unfortunately.

Is there any easy tests I can to do see what the issue is? Or is it new shower time!
    Thanks

Mine acted up during the freeze up....I think water lodged in the pipe froze. I wasn't using it a few weeks leading up to the big freeze, so maybe that is what happened. I haven't used it yet.

Maybe yours is weather related too? Seemingly, according to other posts, you turn it on for short bursts with it on cold and do this a few times to get water moving.

Worth a try I suppose! I had been using it daily over the bad weather but it jus suddendly stopped.

Water still coming out - just freezing

Will try that and let you know how I get - thanks!

    No joy!

I'm thinking it may be new shower time

    Make / Model?

There may be an issue with the mains pressure currently.

Its a B&Q own brand Essentials 9.5Kw electric shower - no other mark on it I', afraid .

The mains pressure seems find in my taps though - would it be different for the shower?

Or maybe I'm not noticing a drop-off in the pressure - certainly seems normal to me!

I told you, I'm hopeless with DIY!

I have a mira shower and have exactly the same problem but i have a problem with my hot water during the cold weather i have a burst pipe that needs repairing have shut off the hot water supply but have cold water supply... was told that i would be able to use the shower but it is not heating the water should i wait till i have the burst pipe repair before dealing with the shower issue maybe the water pressure is not right. any ideas out there.... I thought as long as i had a cold water supply my shower would work....

It's low pressure, same everywhere. I had to have a bath today for the first time since I was about 5.

(as opposed to a shower, which I have quite regularly) :pac:

Its an electric shower most likely because of low pressure as said above.

Turn the dial right up to cold to flush through then turn it up to hot. You prob will find it heats at 3 o clock on the dial instead of the usual 1 o clock

Boo - Its looking like a new shower for me.

The water pressure is fine in the house, but shower just will not heat the water :(

Something obviously blew during the cold spell
