    Nice!

Goes to show that in countries where it snows now and then, they can easily deal with 300cm of snow. We can't even deal with 3cm

It doesn't really, the rest of europe was as bad as us with more snow than normal and the east coast of the US came to a standstill with more snow than normal also. We are no worse than anywhere else at dealing with unusual conditions.

most of the people i work with are from poland, one night recently we had around 2 inches of snow and it was minus 5, the next day i brought it up in conversation. he laughed, back in his hometown in poland it was in the minus 20's and over a meter deep, no schools closed, no people late for work, he said it would be unheard of over there to stop because of a snowfall

Sudden heavy snowfall is one thing, but I've never heard of a country in the civilised world where the motorways were not regularly gritted during prolonged sub zero weather. The M50 was not regularly gritted over Christmas and there had not been any snow for days.

Could you ever imagine Wicklow County Council putting in that much effort to clear the Sally Gap ?
