I have a Dboy's brand one the finish is Crap on the gun
and the wood is pure rubbish, All I did with mine
was sand it down, added a few washes of brown and black paint watered down to an inky/wash after scaring the wood with a screwdriver, and applied linseed oil on it as a finish but it did not work out too well.
I scuffed the paint with a brillo pad/wire wool to give it a worn look.

It did not turn out too well and I never finished it off.
One of the other lads here had fantastic pics of the one
    he made old looking.

Here are a few of mine, not great but better than
what it looked like out of the box:

I did this too on a dboys k98, too true the wood was crappy underneath the shiny finish. I sanded it and used a Birchwood Casey gun stock refinnishing kit I got somewhere online. It turned out ok, but a fella told me since that I shouldn't have sanded it as you it rubs wood dust into the grain ot the wood as you go. He said that removing it chemcally would be the right job. I think it was nitromores he mentioned. I'll look for some pics of the k98 cos I've since sold it.

There's the pics, you can see in places where the stain didn't take too well because the crappy original finish has been sanded into the wood.

I used that video to do the top part of the hanguard aand it came out pretty badly so I got the Gun Stock kit to redo that bit and finish the rest. I turned out a little better. The kit came with stuff for blueing the metal too if one was so inclined, although maybe it wouldn't work so well on the kind of metal AEGs are made of?...

I got the DBoys one a while back aswell, didn't like the wood so decided to rag it up a bit:

the gun as it was out of the box(to dark/red in colour):

Sanded the whole lot, including the metal on the butt and around the firing mech/trigger(to remove the black paint):

Then got some woodstain(used several coats), and also scratch up the barrell and metal parts for a worn look, and painted the bolt black as oppossed to its original silver finish:

I would also recommend anyone wanting to age ww2 wood stock, to do a google for the user "Guinness" on arnies airsoft. He has a how-to on making ww2 guns look spectacular.
