SEAT Ibiza 2006 seat belt light.

Recently brought my car up to the garage for a service as it was due one according to my service booklet but the mechanic said that the mileage was too low since the last service, so he just reset the service light for me. Service wasnt due for another 9K on the clock. I dont drive that much.

Anyway, just noticed the other day that the seat belt light is staying on in the dash now. It goes off for a second, literally, when I start up but then it comes on and stays on. Any ideas what this could be? I can do without an expensive fix for the car right now.

theres a weight sensor in the ar5e part of the seat to turn the light on to suggest putting on your belt, ive seen these be problematic in a few cars before.

is it the drivers or passenger seat that the warning light is for? and is the light illuminated when the seat is empty as well as being sat in?

I am the only person who has been in the car, no passengers and it is illuminated when I get out of the car as well. It is one single light on the dash. I dont know what seat it is for.

id be confident then that its the sensor in the seat bottom. probably 100 euro ish including fitting.
