The attic tanks are approx 24" wide x 48" long x 16" high, the tank is higher but 16" is the maxium height the water will come upto. IF I multiply these figures I get 18432. How do I go about working out how many litres/gallons each tank holds.

    Cheers.

Measure internal length, width and height in metres. Multiply the three to get cubic metres and multiply the result by 1000 to get litres. Alternatively go to:

To get the weight, Water weighs approximately 10 lbs to the gallon so 50 gal tank = 500 lbs divided by 2.2 to convert to Kilos = 227 kilos

    Stay with metric.

    24" x 48" x 16"
    0.6 x 1.2 x 0.4 = 0.288 m3
    0.288 x 1000 = 288 ltrs.
    288 ltrs. = 288kg
