I am installing UFH throughout the house via geothermal heat pump. My dad is now telling me I should install radiators in bathrooms/office/hotpress run from the wood burning stove for extra heating of towels etc. Is this a wise decision or will it cock up the UFH system? Any advice welcome! thanks.

Well if your getting a wood burning stove thats capable of heating a few rads then i would do it, but you will need to treat it as a seperate system as such unless your goin the buffer tank route which its sounds like your not.

What will become important if you do this is the location of the room stats and the zones that they control eg.
If your room stat is in a room with a rad off the wood burner heating the room , then you dont want the stat to shut off the underfloor heating that area of the house just because one room is warm ....... do you see where im goin with this , if i was doing it the way you want to i would have each room a seperate zone with a seperate stat each linked to its own motorized valve to control it.

, but as such if you have a good geothermal system and a very well insulated house then you dont need to do it , its up to yourself if you want the added expense.

    It seems to be unwise.
