I am paying for the digital+ box (which is the same price as the HD+ box) and it only has a scart output and I dont get the HD channels on the package. Does anyone know of a way of me getting a replacement HD box, without ideally not having to pay for it?

Probably best to order the HD box online. Website says free connection when you order online & choose self install option.

I suggest that you get on to them & ask for a straight swap. If they agree make sure that they don't intend charging you an activation fee. If they tell you that you will have to pay more suggest that you will cancel altogether. Even if you are in contract you can say that you have just become aware of the upcoming price increases & that you have a problem paying more for a service that a new customer gets as standard.

Ideally they will then transfer your call to the loyalty/retentions/cancellations dept who might well agree to oblige you. If they don't, wait an hour or two & go through the same process again. Keep doing this until you speak to someone who will oblige.

Bear in mind that you will only get BBC HD & Setanta HD on the basic package, but you will notice a slightly sharper picture on all channels by using the hdmi cable.

Thats what I was thinking. One of the big reasons for getting one is that there is a lot of interference with the scart connection so I want to move other to HDMI.

Dont forget this little doozy hidden at the bottom of the page, which I've been stung for and intend to fight...
A €60 equipment activation fee applies for each Digital box ordered.
