UCaller - Bird of prey....

Was out the other afternoon with a new UCaller and had it playing the rabbit squeel. I had seen a fox in a field off the road a couple of times over the frosty/snowy period so thought I'd go and tempt him from his cover. After 30mins no joy with the fox but I could see a bird in the distance, which looked a bit different from the usual corvid. He was fairly high and started to swoop towards me and turned away from me with about 20m to go. I was half hidding in the drain with a balaclava on. I got a very good look at him but I absolutely sh1t myself. I did a bit of research and I think it was a peregrine falcon. It had bright yellow legs and white breast with heavily speckled black striped speckled on top of the white. Magnificent looking bird though.

Anyone else ever had an experience like this while calling foxes?

Had one swoop onto my pigeon decoy pattern twice in same area on seperate occasions. Saw one take a pigeon in full flight while stalking bunnies........now that was a sight I never will forget :D

Was salmon fishing down in Mayo one sept when a teal came screaming up the river bout 3 ft off the water with a peregrine hot on it's tail. Went straight by me and just as the palcon was gaining on the duck it dived into the river and surfaced under some roots on the far bank. Peregrine banked round and swooped back over the river but I'm afraid it went hungry that morning :) One of the most amazing sights of nature I've witnessed :D

Had owls come to a rabbit squeal at night a few times and had a buzzard drop from about 90 yards straight down onto a pigeon decoy. Sat on the decoy looking around for a few minutes before the penny dropped. Frightened the life out of me;)

I was out yesterday with the rabbit squealer and a male Hen Harrier buzzed me. It's my first time seeing one on my ground and I hope he stays around. I wonder will the buzzards chase him off?
