Hi We are going to an Italian wedding this year and the dress code is being discussed. How are guests and the wedding party expected to dress. Do shoulders have to be covered in the church?

They are very strict about dress code in the Vatican. We once got booted out on a school tour for wearing T Siirts. :p

Moved from after hours. Hope this is the right place OP.

All of the guests would need their shoulders covered. In my experience, churches all over Italy are very strict on this, even if its an Irish priest performing the ceremony.

Shoulders covered, we even put that on the invitations, no shorts or short skirts. Think respectful.

Was at a wedding in rome last year, the churches there are very strict, shoulders have to be covered and skirts and dresses cant be very short, to the knee or just above....so no greyhound skirts!! :)
