Any highlights/lowlights that stand out for you weatherwise in the year 2010?

For me, top weather event of 2010 was the monsoonal rains on the 6th of September with 2 bouts of persistant and torrential rain that gave me a daily total of over 70mm.

The fine spell in the opening days of September was another biggie as was the frosty, snowy spell in late November/December.

Top lowlights include the lack of thunder; a rotten pointless January/February/March/April which in turn were followed by a consistantly odious summer that rarely saw the themo rising above 20c.

    Local stats (NE Galway)

    High temp: 25.0c (May)
    Low temp: -14.8c (December)
    Days with Thunder: 3 (July=1 / October=2)
Highest daily rainfall: 70.1mm (6th September)

    High points for me:

Discovering the boards.ie weather forum in January this year . .
Seeing my first ever proper snow (i.e. lasted for more than an hour on the ground - several days in jan in fact!)
Having it all repeated in november!
Warm weather through the month of June.
Entering the Boards forecast competition . .! :P
Brief Indian summer in early october.
    Going outside in -15.

    Low points:
    Wet weather in July.
    Cool August :(
Blizzard in march/april only giving snow to locations 50m higher than me . .i could see the snow only a few miles away!
Missing out on almost all the snow in the 2nd cold spell of this winter.
Having a big lightning storm miss me to the south east ( can't remember which month - storm was in wexford)

High point - half decent summer for the first time since 2006 (the residents of the Cote D'deise seem to have had a better Jun-Sept than most)
Low points - 10 days without water in January and December due to the cold.

Lows : Experienced no good thunderstorms. Didn't experience much of an impact from any of the big Atlantic depressions. Didn't get a nationwide heavy frontal snow event with 6ft drifts :P

Highs : Lucky to experience great snowfalls in a couple of locations, including the very best I've seen in Waterford City.

    Highlight:
The ridiculous amount of snow we've had this year, January, February, March, November and December all with quite significant snowfall.
    Record Low Temp this month
The big storm in mid November

    Lowlight:
The boring non eventful summer we had with the temp barely going above 20C
Only getting one thunder storm all year
That depressing feeling of seeing all the snow melting

    Highlights:

Starting and ending the year with frost-filled, snowy days :)

Recording a low of -12.4C on the 25th December

The general lack of thunder in Tuam :D :P unlike Galway City which had some impressive displays in July and especially the in the early hours of the 6th of September.

Interviewing M.T. Cranium and Gerald Fleming :)

    Lowlights:

The continuing dearth of Atlantic storms; the offering on 11th November was tame by Galway standards.

    No OwenC

7 days and counting without water in December :(
