    Hi folks..
Is it possible to find out the true value of my car by seeing the blackbook valuation?..is there an online version..My car is a 2006 316i BMW,just curious as I'm looking to either trade or sell and need to know it's true value..cheers

The retail price of it is whatever the cheapest similar model is, and the trade in value will probably be a few thousand back from that. The book value is, and has been for a few years now, totally irrelevant.

Plus, you shouldn't be looking at trade in price as an indicator as to how good a deal you're getting. It's extremely misleading, and the price of your trade in can be easily inflated by the dealer to make you think you're getting great value when you're not.

Cheers paintdoctor...guess I'll just chance my arm and bring it to a dealer and see what's on offer!!

That's all you can do. Bring it to a few dealers and concentrate on the price they're charging you to change. Not the smoke and mirrors or trade in value.
