    What is the best way of obtaining Shares for a company. Can I walk into a bank and say I would like to buy shares please????

    You could do but they would over charge you - look into setting up an account with an online broker such as TD Waterhouse and go from there.

    People in Ireland need to realise that shares can now be bought by using a broker that has nothing to do with a bank (apart from transferring money to a trading account)
