Jolly Flush: hissing leak in head of inlet valve

    Hello all

I'm not sure what's going on with one of our three domestic jolly flush systems but I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what's wrong or what I need to.
Our three toilets have been installed just over a year ago but the toilet we use most often has started behaving strangely.

When I push the button on top of the cistern the flush completes normally, the house pump kicks in and fills the cistern again as expected. But after the cistern has been filled there seems to be some sort of repeated leak/hissing... and seems to be happening inside the top or head of the inlet valve.
After the flush there is a gradual sound of hissing or water flowing into the head of the inlet valve, it seems to increase and make a little more hissing, then the house pump kicks in again for a few seconds and the hissing stops, then the cycle starts immediatley again....

This is causing the house pump to kick in about every minute, it's driving me mad and I'm concerned that the pump could decide to give up sometime if I don't get this sorted out. At the moment the only way I can deal with this is not to use the toilet at all and close the valve on the water supply behind the toilet bowl.

I put my hand under the cistern and checked to see if nut and washer was wet but not a drop of water, no leak that I can find.
I studied the leaflet that came with the Jolly flush system and looked at the troubleshooting section i.e. disconnect the rod from the float, lower the arm and connect the rod to the float again, but this has no effect.
This link shows you exactly what we have.

I hope I have described the situation enough for you to understand what's happening, it's weird.

Thanks in advance for your help on this.

We might have something here.... http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=135519

but I'm not sure is this person means the head of the inlet valve should come off, I wonder should I try twisting the head off or maybe I'd end up just breaking it. I thought the inlet valve was all one piece, I have no idea what's inside the head of the inlet valve......

Anyone ever dis-assembled one of these?

    Yes he was right.
I had to force/break off the head of the inlet valve, open the nut, take apart the rubber diaphram and dry it out. After assembling the inlet valve again the problem has now been solved.
