Is the best stop the Sandyford stop? I'm presuming that's where the Shuttle bus runs from?

...the Leopardstown Racecourse website says there's a shuttle bus that picks you up at the Luas stop but when we arrived there wasn't one in sight... they may only arrive at certain times. No matter, it's only a short 10-15 mins walk up to the course... very handy indeed for a city centre 'day at the races' option :) First visit to Leopardstown and I was mightily impressed with the course and facilities.
