Hi there,
There is an issue with role permissions that is being worked on at the moment.
If you are having trouble with access or permissions on regional forums please post here to get access: https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058365403/you-do-not-have-permission-for-that#latest

Please give me the information because I'm too lazy, stupid or both to get it myself.

I've a suggestion for some of the brain dead posters in the forum of late.

Piss off and find it out for yourself.

In the last few months on this forum I've never seen so many stupid enquiries about stupid subjects. Fair enough, maybe somebody might be confused about when to register for VAT, but the latest beuaty is "When are the postmen back to work?" and "Who makes how much on food?".

I've seen some strange requests here over the last few years but stuff like this takes the biscuit. This isn't f*cking directory enquiries or some similar information service, it's a forum to discuss entrepreneurial ideas and the management of business.

So please, it might be worth considering what you're asking and how you may be able to find that information before filling this forum with a lot of dunb-ass questions.

yeah Tony seen it in other forums as well like what time is such a shop open when to google the shops website would have given a quicker more accurate answer. I think some people just get into a habit.

While I'm all for people using Google first, and maybe a bit of common sense, it's a forurm for everyone. Stupid questions, and not so stupid. Everyone has to start somewhere, and unless the Mods say differently, let them post away.

It's a public forum so you have to take the good with the bad. If the rules are too stringent it inhibits the contributions. A poster who might ask what you perceive to be a silly question on one issue might be very knowledgeable about another complex issue that you need to find out about.

Wow, and there I was thinking that this is a forum where people can post questions and get help from other posters....

Oh wait, it is. Sure some people may post bizarre questions from time to time but such is the internet, no harm in redirecting them to where they need to go. I'm sure that if there is an issue with the type of questions that are being raised, the mods will take care of it.

I have to say that for a forum that you would be more positive than your average forum there is an awful lot of negative/slating posts by some people saying how silly other people are.

If you don't like the question then don't answer it, ignore it.

In other cases though I have seen people have the ideas they put forward here completely slated, with gusto, and with ZERO constructive criticism. I think rather than starting entire threads about moaning about other posters we all just concentrate on helping each other out.

    I'll add this.

Imagine this was a real world situation where a bunch of people were coming and going from a room. And every now and then some guy walked in and asked if anyone had any information on [insert spurious subject that has nothing to do with business management]. How many of you would bother to even think about it?

The reason I notice all the sh*t posts is because I come here to share any knowledge I have. So I'm inclined to open all new threads and see what I can offer.

Anyway, while I'm here, can someone tell me what time AIB in Stillorgan opens at tomorrow morning?

@Clearpreso. You make an interesting point. Many ideas do get slated. But I have a feeling that the construction engineer who wants to open a Chinese take-away, or the web designer who thinks it would be a good idea to open a full service petrol station, might eventually be glad they got hammered on the forum and didn't go ahead with their idea.

I disagree with you there DubTony

Its constructive criticism if you ask me, not getting slated. If I post an idea here I would want and expect to get honest answers and if I don't like what they say then thats too bad for me.

As an example, the construction engineer would be told that he is off his rocker for wanting to open a chinese if he knows nothing about it, and rightly so. If you want advise, expect to get it warts and all. Thats not slating.....

On the other hand, stupidity is rife in this world and there will always be a certain amount or people posting stupid questions here, and on every other forum on this site. Have a look at Helpdesk, its full of it.

Posting a thread about it isn't going to stop people, nor is having it in the charter. Mods need to move / lock the threads or people need to redirect them or not reply to threads.

    Just my opinion
