PVR for Irish DTT +Mheg5 +web access

    Ive been looking for the ultimate combo STB, that contains 7 day epg for DTT and Satellite, internal hdd for PVR, mheg5, and internet access.

    It seems as though one of those may not exist. The Dreambox 8000 may be the closest, but I cannot confirm if this does mheg5, or how the 7 day epg for Satellite will work, and at €900+ it is a little steep.

    I have decided to forget about the combo part, and just look for a DTT STB.

    I have seen this on amazon, and from the blurb, it looks to tick most/all of the boxes, whit the added bonus of a bluray drive

    What are the problems that have been seen with the panasonic tv's, and do they occur on STB's also? Can they be overcome?

    How good/bad is VIERA CAST and can it used to do normal internet stuff?

    Does this STB do mheg5?

    VU+Duo does what you are looking for. Its linux based.

    Combo Satellite and DTT PVR. 7 day epg etc. Plays media MKV etc.

    Look in the foreign sat forum. Massive thread on it.

    Cheers STB, it looks quite fantastic, and with the support for usb dtt, it seems to tick all the boxes.
