N130 to Sony Bravia

I've just got myself a new Sony Bravia HD TV and want to connect my N130 to it in order to watch films etc. However, when I connect it via VGA Cable, it still shows up as 'no sync' on the TV Screen.

Can someone give me a run through of how to set this connection up? I've tried changing the resolution and that but no joy.

    Cheers.

Normally there's a key combination (e.g. <Fn> + <F?>) that you have to press first before the VGA output on the laptop/netbook becomes active.

I'm assuming you pressed the function key + output button, on my NC10 its FN+F4, if that doesnt work and its running windows 7 search the start menu for external display and click connect to external display & follow instructions

Have you changed the video output to VGA?
On the Sammy NC10 you hold the Fn key and press F4 to toggle the
    video output modes.

Yup, tried that alright. Still no joy. Nothing seems to happen at all when I press Fn+F4.

I'm using XP, where would the options be in control panel for that?

Display properties, see if there are 2 displays under the settings tab

There is but they're both the same now. They were different when I first went into it and I thought I had it sorted when my desktop pic came on the screen of the TV but there were no icons or anything else.. What settings should I set up for the second one?

Have you got a normal monitor that you can try it out with just to see if it's the netbook or the TV that you need to concentrate on?

Ok I've just got to the point where my bankground pic is on my TV screen and I can move my mouse around, but what I have on screen in front of me now (i.e posting on boards) is not on screen and there are no icons on the background? Any ideas?

The display has extended, not mirrored I think is whats happened, I think if you set primary output to be the display 2 under settings it will show the main desktop on the external display

I know now what it's done. Instead of projecting the image from my desktop onto the TV (i.e. my desktop) it's created a side by side image (i.e my desktop has extended). Because when I drag the icons over to the right hand side of my laptop screen - off view - they show up on the screen on the TV. Think I've explained that properly?

Any remedy for this? Almost there me thinks!

Cheers for the help so far by the way.
