Quick Q: Black Ops/MP splitscreen

    Just a quick q, since the web is throwing up conflicting answers.

    To play online MP on splitscreen does the second player need an Xbox Live Gold account?

    On PS3 they show up as Nevore(2) so on PS3 they dont assume the same for xbox.

    Noticed quite a lot of (2)s online in this game.

    On Xbox they will show up as Gamertag(1), and no, you don't Gold for them.

    You can can sign in a second gold a/c and they will gain exp and COD points for their own a/c.
    A guest a/c will lose everything after signing out.

    Would that feature be restricted if the account was only Gold via a free trial that came with a game?
    Keep getting an error. New xbox and haven't bought a Gold account yet.

    no a gold account is a gold account irregardless of how long its for or how much you did (or didnt) pay for it .

    I think a 48hr pass doesn't give you the option of a second player on a gamertag in games as I vaguely recall it didn't work when a mate came round a long time ago. If your badly stuck I can pm you a 48 pass code to get another player in but tbh if you've got two people on any screen you'll probably do a lot worse than if there was one of you.

    I think this may be the case.
    The pass was about to expire so I bought a e40 year pass and applied it. Tried the split screen again on the off chance and it worked. This was without a system restart or anything in between.

    Not too worried about it effecting performance. I couldn't get more crap. :(
