Setting up a VPN - Winrar Issues

I've decided to try out VPN for the next three months as it's pretty cheap and my friend in America has given me his password to watch HD sports games. I signed up with Black VPN and downloaded the opensource OpenVPN GUI. I installed the VPN to my desktop but I'm stuck on the last step which is to download an .exe from BlackVPN and copy it into the config (program file) settings for OpenVPN.

Whenever I try to extract the file from winrar it tells me that User Access is denied. I'm logged on to the Admin account so I've no idea why this happening. Could anybody give me a few pointers as to why this happening?

I've also tried to log in to VPN by setting up a network connection (pptp) but each time it tells me that I can't connect even though I've granted access for inbound and outband traffic on port 1723. I'm a bit stumped at the moment so would appreciate any help you guys could give.

    Thanks.

Forget PPTP for the moment and just use OpenVPN as they're completely different setups. You need to download the settings .ZIP file from here and extract the contents to "C:\Program File\openVPN\config\".

If you're having trouble with WinRAR then just save the .ZIP file somewhere on your computer and then extract it with Windows Explorer. Then copy the extracted contents to "C:\Program File\openVPN\config\"

Thanks for that. Worked great. Quick question, is it not possible to extract files from winrar into a program file? I've had it happen a couple of times with other programs.

Not sure what you're asking here. Can you give a specific example?

Winrar, Winzip, 7zip etc. should all work similarly and you should be able to extract any zipped archive to any destination. Windows XP/Vista/7 even have there own zip/unzip facilities so there's little reason anymore to need programs like Winrar.

Take the Black VPN file, after downloading I had to unzip it. When unzipping I'd have thought it was possible to unzip directly to the Open VPN client. Instead I had to unzip to the desktop and then copy the files to the client. Just wondering why I couldn't do it directly from winrar to the client without having to save to the desktop.

    Does that make sense?

I've opened up UDP port 1194 inbound and outbound and I can establish a connection but when I visit U.S streaming sites it's still picking up that I'm not in the U.S. Any ideas?

Sorry for the schoolboy questions, I'm not the greatest at this stuff!

    Here's the error message btw:
