From the detail of the information you have provided it could be a puncture, missing wheel/tyre, clutch, ignition coils, air filter, and possibly thousands of other reasons.

What car is it? Does it occur in a certain gear or at a certain speed or certain revs?

Half blocked fuel filter or dirty fuel or both.Need a bit more info.

Saying its stuttering is far to random and vague to even take a guess,

What car and engine is it?
    What year is it?
    Is the problem when accelerating?
    When braking?
    When engaging a gear?
    When freewheeling?
    Down on power?
Shaking in the steering wheel or brake pedal?

    HIJACK

Ive a stuttering problem lately too, past 5 weeks or so... annoying as hell

Its an Opel Astra 1.4l 2001 G model
    Happens only when accelerating
Everything else (Braking, steering etc,) seems fine only the stuttering
Happens mainly in 2nd and 3rd gear

Thats all i can think off

Sounds like the clutch on the way out and it's slipping.

How much a new clutch cost?

A worn/slipping clutch wouldn't cause any 'stuttering'. The running would be smooth however when you try to accelerate the revs will rise but the car will not accelerate properly.

On the astra, a common problem is the coilpack which will cause a misfire under load.

A coilpack for your car would cost less then €150 fitted..

My pleasure, it could be anything of course but coil pack failure is the first suspect on an astra..

    2003 tdci focus
happens usually when slightly accelerating or just cruising along...
just the whole car kinda stutters along..

I think there'd be bigger issues than a little stutter if there was a wheel missing :pac:

I'll need my own thread soon:D

On the focus tdci it could be several things but one thing I've seen a few times with the modern ford diesels is then suffering low fuel rail pressure. some times it can be a leaking injector seal(look for wet/damp around the injectors), sometimes it can be a worn high pressure pump, caused by sh1te diesel in this country.
Is it a little slow to start when left for a while?

I'd doubt it . There is no coilpack on a diesel engine.

If its not common rail injection the high pressure pumps give trouble maybe 100k miles onwards.

Genius!! Maybe best not to give motor advise!!

I'd tend to agree with Nissan doctor on this one. Certainly sounds like a fuel supply fault, and unfortunatly could be an expensive one. Possible the injectors themselves could be gone faulty. Get it in and put on the computer and have them check it right. If you keep driving you could make a small problem much worse.

Clean the throttle body with Carb Cleaner, prone to gunking up.

Does this only happen when cold? also, does it idle badly?
