I've only started using my wifes Wii after getting Goldeneye and we only have the stock cable,it there much of a difference in picture quality with a 480p cable?

Definitely worth getting one. The stock cables are composite ad will give you an absolutely disgraceful picture. 480p is a massive leap in visual quality.

I picked one up for around €4 on ebay, really makes games like SMG look even more gorgeous since the sharp edges are removed.

Just subscribed to Netflix. I am using Wii to connect it to the TV and when I saw the picture quality got straight onto Boards to find a solution to this problem. Is the aforementioned cable still the recommended way to optomize picture quality? Thanks.

Yeah, still is. Defintely worth getting. I did a composite versus component comparison once on a 50 inch TV, huge difference to the smoothness and colour of the picture.

Its six times the price though, & HDMI slots are in high demand on my tv...nothing is using the component sockets so happy days
