On 23rd of December while travelling along the M50, a VW Touareg came up behind me with flashing amber and red LEDs. Two were on the dash and another two higher up by the rear view mirror.
Out of curiosity, I let him pass hoping to see markings that would clarify who or what he was. There was nothing. The rear fog lights were also alternately strobing.
    It was a 05 D registered blue-grey Touareg.

Please don't start a thread about the legality of the forward flashing red's,or guess who it might be. Just curious does someone know specifically who or what they were. Thanks a mil.

would be interested to know this myself.. seen them twice on the m50 near exit 16 myself. one with a car pulled over infront of it(not implying they pulled the car over) and then another time driving along.

Am I correct in saying that red lights of any sort, flashing or otherwise, should only be rearwards on a vehicle?

It is not somebody from any of the tow truck companies the Gardai use and I wont have anybody else guessing who it is and potentially landing ourselves in trouble.

Im locking this thread, if somebody can positively identify this car (with proof) I will reopen this thread.

PM me with the details and the proof.

    Chief---
