Anyone got anything on order for early 2011 delivery? If so what do you have on order? Will be interesting to see if the new car market is higher in 2011 than 2010. The madness all kicks off again a week from today.

not many by the looks of it.
the scrappage scheme is extended, but its hard to see where the additional people are going to come from. Those schemes invariably attract the vast majority of interested buyers in year 1.

If they match Jan 2010 I'd say they will be doing well; but is that well enough? I doubt it

All they did with the scrappage scheme last year was to get people who may have considered buying a new car over the next 3 years to buy 1 sooner rather then later...

...but sure, then you've also got the crowd that trade in every 2 or so years anyhow for the reg plate, even though there'd be no difference in the model of the car they had and will be getting...

Hopefully that kinda crap would be cut out now with banks being more selective with lending these days...

Without those people, there aren't any decent 2-3 year old s/hand cars for the people who don't buy new to nab...

But by extending it on one year you are automatically adding another 170,000 new qualifiers that bought a car in 2001 that up until now couldnt have qualified.

Orders for 2011 are up compared to where we were this time last year (expect for Audi - well down due to the stupidity of removing the additional discount).

Have 3 Insignia Sport Tourer's, 1 Insignia Hatch and a Vivaro Minibus in the garage ready for reg on the 4th. 4 or 5 Mondeo's didn't make it before Christmas so hopefully they'll be with me on the 4th, and I've got a few Volvo's due up first week.

Don't think any of my VAG's will be ready first week, and the BMW's hadn't made it before Christmas due to weather in Europe.

I wouldn't think there will be more registrations in 2011 than there was in 2010, but hopefully it will be close enough.

What's wrong with this country when a 2001 car is only considered good enough for scrap, and it's supposed to be a green policy :confused:

I can only presume these are for the S60/V60?

V60 pricing was only released a couple of weeks ago and I don't think that will be available until Q2.

Have a few S60 SE's and an SE LUX with the driver support pack - all D3 engines.

That's a ridiculous comment. Who are you to dictate when people change their cars? Some people like keeping a relatively new car with a warranty and low mileage. If they can afford to then more power to them.

heres an article you may all have seen, of the Jan-Nov figures for 08, 09, 10.
    http://www.finfacts.ie/irishfinancenews/article_1021199.shtml

interesting that the TOTAL number of new cars (new reg's and imports) was only up 20% from 100k in '09 to 120k this year, but crucially new reg's were up 30k on the year (from 54k to 84k) while imports were down 10k from 47k to 37k ... give or take
