Possible Airlock in the fresh water feed in attic

Our water was off for 12 hours yesterday it came back on last night at about 11pm. It took about an hour for the pressure to build to a reasonable level. This morning I realised that the tank in the attic was empty and had not refilled when the water came back. We have filled it up with basins - I did pull up the ballcock as I thought it may have jammed but nothing happened! When I was filling the tank I could hear air and some gurgling but nothing came out of the pipe I think then that it might be airlocked
Anyone know what I can do to remove the airlock

Its not an airlock. There's not enough water pressure to blow the water up the pipe. Just wait till the pressure comes back.
