im looking for a hdmi av separate receiver with hdmi inputs and outputs.

basically i have a hdtv, ps3 and a surround sound system to connect them all together.

im using a component av cable but the resolution and picture quality through component is awful.

ill keep this short n sweet so hdmi €100-€200 would be great. (under €100 would be great but i cant seem to find any)

also why are they so expensive?

Well it shouldn't be. Despite the hype there's not a huge difference between Component and HDMI. Make sure you're getting the best from your current setup before forking out on a new amp.

I'm guessing buy components he means the Red/White/Yellow connectors. Composite Video rather than true Component. Doubt you'll have much joy finding a HDMI receiver for that little money !!
