What car have you?, it's pretty simple all you need is an iso lead to suit your car and a 4.99 tool kit.

If you're using plug and play adapters, sure. I had to put an MKi9200 into a 99 Audi A4 the other day, and that was fun. There was no mute wire in the harness, and 4 ignition senses to pick from (Only one of which was a true ignition sense), I had to redo the harness by hand.

And as the OP says, you need to know how to take your dashboard apart and put it back together so it doesn't rattle forever more. OP, if you want recommendations, give us your location.

I got one of these installed in my car in October, and like the OP I was going to go to Halfords until I heard a few horror stories of the state they left people's cars in. Also, because my car is a Nissan Primera, they needed some sort of extra lead to connect it, and they were charging €50 a go for this.

I actually brought it to my local Nissan dealer and they supplied and fitted it for cheaper than Halfords were doing it. I think it worked out about €70 cheaper with the main dealer, and my car was absolutely perfect when I got it back.

For Xmas, my Dad wants to get Bluetooth in my car for me.... We had planned on just using Halfords but from reading reviews on here, i would like to avoid them now....

The snow stopped us getting it before xmas.

Anyway, nothing major, just want basic one like http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_240407_langId_-1_categoryId_212409

EDIT: or this http://cgi.ebay.ie/Parrot-CK3100-Bluetooth-Handsfree-Kit-UK-Black-Edition-/250599025560?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a58ddab98 if anybody knows someone who can install and be trusted?

To be able to hear a phone call while driving is all to be honest.

Can anyone recommend anyone that can supply and install anyone thats trusted and cheap?

    or any other advice?

    Thanks,
    Damien

    Hola,

I got the Parrot ck3100 professionally fitted a couple of years ago in my car. carphonewarehouse sent a man to my house to do it, cost €250. It's a discreet installation with no wires showing. It never failed me, it picks up the fone via bluetooth and has voice recognition, it mutes the radio automatically when a call is rec'd or made. I'd say its cheaper to fit now, as they are very common now.

    I disagree, jobs involved are:

    Removing the stereo
Running Mic cable under the dash and up the A pillar
RUnning cable for display somewhere it can be seen
Mounting display so it doesn't fall off.

Doing this job is beyond a lot of people, and the newer the car the bigger the chance of damaging the interior.

I was looking at similar things, I think I'll go for a bluetooth stereo instead. Although tbh I'm peeing against the wind when it comes to handsfree in my car

I picked up one of these today and it works for phone and playing music through the stereo pretty well (for what it is). I'd recommend it based on my limited experience, anyway.

Chris, I got something very similar to that a few weeks ago, I commute 3hours a day, its absolutely brilliant, the one I got is the Jabra Cruiser, I stream my music through it from my phone and also use it for calls, the noise canceling dual microphones are great for car.

I got a Parrott CK3100 installed about 3 and a half years ago. I got it put it professionally and it was well worth it.

There is still no rattles or squeaks from the dashboard, the mic was routed through the interior light with the headlining coming down to fit. The control unit was placed above the A/C ECU and if you're in Cork, I'll pm you the name of the fitter.

I use these guys for all our car phone kit's in work, and have been using them for the past 5 years with no problems.

Bit more expensive than I would have thought for the 3100. If you think you might want to hook your I-pod / MP3 player up to the stereo in the future, get the 9200 instead.

It's about 25-30 minutes to install it for a pro. I'd still be opening the box at that stage.

I was recommended these guys on here

    installs@futurecomms.ie

I stripped the parrot out of my old motor and they came and installed it at my home in Dublin. 100 blips for the install and they did a perfect job. Took less than an hour.

I'd 100% recommend the ck3100. The sound quality is excellent.

    My dad got it done.....

    €210 installed, the CK3100....... In Clondalkin, http://www.sounddecision.ie/shop/index.php

Was advertised for 259 but got it for 210....

Excellent work to be fair, fitting was good

Parrott 9200 in Halfords. No gripe whatsoever. Two lads at the counter, one real youngster so asked the other. Fitted perfectly, back last year for updated soft ware, free. Great bit of kit too, if you like your music.

Well i went for a Sony BT headunit this week, currently on sale for €179 in Halfords, seems to work well for handsfree, I'd imagine it'd be quite good in a quieter car
