Im taking a ryanair flight soon and am only taking hand luggage and I seem to have lost my suitcase which i bought as it especially fits the dimensions required. So the only other bag i can find at the moment is 35x30x26 now ryanair specify 55x40x20 so i wonder if I will get away with it?
I took this bag on a flight with them before but that was before they started using those things you have to fit your bag in. I dont plan on filling the bag so i will be able to flatten it a bit I just dont fancy them being very strict and making me pay for checked luggage at the gate. Should I risk it?

if its a canvas type bag such as a backpack, rucksack etc and you can flatten it will fit easy, its a suitcase whose shape cannot be changed then you won't get it in no, it will be too wide to fit in the basket

With those dimensions they won't bother you to even put the bag in the cage.

Do be aware that any advice given here comes without a guarantee - and if you are asked to try your bag in the cage or box and it doesn't fit then you will be paying to check your bag in.

Sometimes you will find that airports in other countries have more zealous staff than in Dublin. I've seen virtually every bag being checked in Beauvais for example.

I got one in Dunnes for 25 euro that had the right dimensions. You could also try Tkmaxx?
