AIB Online Travel Insurance offer you two options when purchasing travel insurance, one is to buy it directly from them and the other allows you to take the Health Care option which gives you the insurance for a few bucks cheaper. The second option requires that you have private health cover.

    My question is this,

If one chooses the second option and for whatever reason finds themselves needing to make a claim, does the fact that the policy is shared between AIB insurers & your private health cover company make the whole process more complicated and difficult to resolve?

Would one be better off paying the extra few bucks and buy it solely from AIB or whoever?
