    Hello..

My daughter got an un-locked Iphone 3gs for Christmas and she has been trying to set it up for meteor pay as you go internet. She'e been to the meteor store in town and they said that they don't support the Iphone but she gave her some codes anyway to type into the phone but when she does this nothing happens.

Can someone please explain the steps she'll need to take in order to get this phone working with the internet.

    Thanks

Hi, there's a thread at the top of the page for Meteor you might find helpful. You'll need to go in to Settings and put the following in. It's pretty straight forward.

She'll also need to have a data bundle from Meteor or access to wifi for Internet use.

    Apn: data.mymeteor.ie
    Username: my
    Password: meteor

    MMS

    Apn: mms.mymeteor.ie
    Username: my
    Password: meteor
    MMSC: http://mms.mymeteor.ie
    MMS Proxy: 010.085.085.085:8799
    MMS Max Message size: 307200

You can leave the last one blank

Just to warn you, internet on the iPhone is fairly expensive unless your on a bundle. The iPhone does work on Meteor though, I can at least confirm that.

Go To: Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network
She'll also need to have a data bundle from Meteor or access to wifi for Internet use.

    Apn: data.mymeteor.ie
    Username: my
    Password: meteor

    MMS

    Apn: mms.mymeteor.ie
    Username: my
    Password: meteor
    MMSC: http://mms.mymeteor.ie
    MMS Proxy: 010.085.085.085:8799
    MMS Max Message size: 307200

    Thanks for the replys guys.

She got the instructions ye provided installed but when she trys to get on the internet she gets a service not available message.

She is on the talk and text plan(pay as you go) with meteor but has credit in the phone. Will she need to change to the internet and text plan before she can access the internet?

Is the Edge / 3G set to on?

    Settings > General > Network

Check that Enable 3G and Cellular Data are on. Check that you have a E or 3G symbol at the very top of the screen.

    I'll stress two things though:

PAYG data is going to be very expensive.

3G and Data are going to drain the battery quickly.
