    hello all,
i was just wondering last night what would happen if you walked into a club that you paid 10 euro for and no one was there.

could you go back and get your money back and leave? you would have to do it within 2 minutes of finding out the club is crap.

does anyone do this? do you have any consumer rights regarding night club entries?

nothing happened to me regarding this but got free into a club recently that was kind of empty. people had to pay in that time i went in.

It would be like going to the cinema and realising it's a muck film. I'd Doubt you'd have a leg to stand on regarding a refund, unless you know someone working there.

I've seen it happen in Dun Laoghaire/blackrock

I've seen people getting refunds because it was so busy that they couldn't get a drink. Generally if I think somewhere is going to be quiet I ask can I go in and have a look before paying in, most oblige.

id imagine its very much let the buyer beware kind of thing, they shouldnt have to refund you as you chose to go in,unless they had to close up early for any reason.

My guess is they'd tell you to fcuk off:pac: And as for this "buyer beware" stuff, bouncers generally wouldn't allow you in for a look, especially if you're under the age of 25, and drunk! It would just be too much hassle for them escorting you inside and back out again, and we all know how much crap they have to put up with on a nightly basis..:pac:
But yeh should know anyways which clubs to avoid on a night out, considering there's only, what, 6/7 clubs in Galway?

I went to a club last night. Paid in and then the guy with the stamps took my stub and told me to hold on a minute...then after a few seconds said you didn't pay because I didn't have the stub..I was the last one in and the girl taking the money said I didn't pay!!

It was so bizare. Then the guy said you paid with a 50 so you should have two 40's in your pocket and I did...then I got told by the girl taking the money I should move quicker in future..It was one of the strangest most frustrating things!

Wonder do they just try to mess with people!

It baffles me as to why anyone would pay into a club in the first place. Or indeed set foot in one...

lol at the notion of bouncers and nightclubs recognising punters' rights

Fair enough, I get the latter part of that - but the first... I just don't see it...

The clubs that regularly charge an entrance fee (CPs, Halo, Karma) offer absolutely nothing in return. They all play the exact same music, their drinks are actually even dearer than the 'free in' clubs, the bouncers tend to be stricter, the queues longer.

On a side-note ..... What about stamp-instances where the stamp doesn't leave a good imprint, and you go outside for a minute and get refused entry on return back indoors again ..... Some of those stamps can be very very weak ....

Eh? When I have a shower the morning after a night out I still can't get the friggin' things off me. You walk around the next day with a storybook of the night before printed all over your hands.
